Welcome back! The children have settled in really well to Year 2 and have made a good start to their new school year. Our topic this half term is ‘Childhood’ and we will be learning about how we have grown and changed as well as how things have changed in recent history. This week we have started to revise what we know about place value in maths and how we can partition numbers into tens and ones. In English we have started to read ‘Traction Man’ by Mini Grey and think about the characters in the story. We have also looked at self-portraits and thought about how the artists used different media to create them. The children brought in their favourite toy and compared it to toys in the past. We have also looked at how babies grow and change and thought about groups they belong to.
