‘Friends of Wheldon’

We have a group of parents and friends of the school who organise most of our fund raising activities for school.

Their aim is to help to provide and maintain high quality resources and experiences for the children in our care.

As well as raising money, the events they hold always have fun for children at their heart. If you would be interested, the ‘Friends’ are always more than happy to welcome new recruits.

If you would like to help with any events or join our Friends group please email smalanczak@wheldon.wakefield.sch.uk or admin@wheldon.wakefield.sch.uk

We are delighted to announce that we have been selected to be a Co-Op Community Fund Local Cause. This is an exciting opportunity to raise additional funds for our school, for the benefit of our pupils and potentially local community groups.

Three local causes are selected to take part each year and Co-Op members nominate a chosen cause to donate to. For each Co-Op branded item purchased in store the member receives 2% of the cost price to use as a reward and the local cause also receives 2%. For information on how to become a Co-Op member please visit https://www.coop.co.uk/membership. There is a one off initial charge of £1 but as a member you will earn great rewards for you and support a cause in your local community.

With any funds that we raise we would like to facilitate exciting play and outdoor learning opportunities by continuing to develop our outdoor areas including our Forest School. Following our planned improvements, we would be happy to consider requests from local community groups to make use of these facilities.

We would like to ask for your help and support by spreading the word as much as possible and asking anyone who is a Co-Op member to consider nominating us as their chosen local cause. If you would like to follow our progress and promote our cause our community profile page can be found at https://membership.coop.co.uk/causes/59971.

If you would like any further information, please contact our school office.
