We have had a brilliant start to the new school year and have had a busy week getting to know each other and finding our way around the classroom. We have enjoyed a treasure hunt, thought about our wishes for the year to come and enjoyed our first PE session with our sports coach, Mr Wilson.

On Tuesday we welcomed Mrs Clifford to the Wheldon family and we are very happy that she will be joining our class as a teaching assistant.

I have been incredibly impressed at how wonderfully polite and enthusiastic the children are and I am really looking forward to the year ahead.

Things to note...

PE will take place on a Wednesday and Friday. Children will need to remove their earrings for our PE sessions. If your child finds it difficult to remove their earrings we ask that you please remove them on the morning of our sessions.

Children will need their reading books and book bags at school every Friday so that we are able to change books during our RWI session.

Please keep an eye on the various pages of the Year 2/1 section of our school website, as these will be regularly updated with photographs and information about all of the amazing learning that is taking place in our class.

Finally, the children spent some time this week thinking about some values and behaviour expectations for the class, to help make our room a safe and happy place. We have included a picture so you can have a look at what they came up with.
