Find out what we have got up to this week...
Our week in Nursery has seen us thinking lots about being kind and helpful. We read a lot of stories that had friendly characters helping their family and friends when they got into a pickle! Our favourite was the book ‘Kind’ by Alison Green. All of our children in nursery are kind and helpful and have enthusiastically helped us pegging out washing in our ‘Funky fingers’ area, using dustpans and brushes if their friends accidently had a spill in the home corner, and talked about how they are helpful at home!
Last week we were so excited to learn about hedgehogs, like in our story ‘Ouch’, that we continued thinking about them again this week. We observed pictures and videos of hedgehogs in the outdoors and considered where a hedgehog would live and what their nest might be made of.
With our Harvest Festival coming up fast we have been practicing singing our lovely songs ‘Big red combine harvester’ and ‘Cauliflowers fluffy’. We are also learning a poem about ‘5 little apples’. We have enjoyed exploring different fruits and vegetables and even got stuck into exploring the pumpkins in our classroom and finding out what a pumpkin looks like on the inside, lots of messy seeds and pulp!
