Science Week 2024

Nursery-  Nursery have had a fantastic Science Week, we have enjoyed exploring time and how our planet and the creatures in it have changed over time. Nursery have loved learning all about dinosaurs, we have junk modelled our own dinosaurs describing their features. We have also learnt that scientists know about dinosaurs because of fossils, so we got to work creating our own fossils. Nursery enjoyed taking part in their own science experiment exploring asteroids and craters, although it was messy it was lots of fun! We predicted that the largest asteroid would make the biggest crater and we were right!
Nursery and Reception have also joined up together throughout the week to make their own large-scale dinosaurs. The children worked fantastically together as a team to build impressive dinosaurs. We imagined life when dinosaurs roamed and discussed the changes over time.

This week was National Birdwatching Week so we spent tome creating bird feeders, counting birds in our environment, going on a (pretend) bird hunt,, and talking about different types of birds e.g. magpies, parrots, pigeons and doves. We were lucky enough to find a nest in our Forest School that had fallen from a tree.
